Caroline Dodd is ANCA’s 2025 Climate and Energy Fellow. A lifelong Saranac Laker, Caroline recently completed her M.S. in Environmental Policy from Clarkson University and holds a B.S. in Environmental and Sustainability Sciences and Music from Cornell University. Caroline’s Master’s thesis work explored challenges for rural communities pursuing climate action, focusing specifically on the NYS Climate Smart Communities Program. Her mission is to craft and support policies and initiatives to address the climate crisis and correct systemic injustices. During her graduate work, she held positions as the LEED for Communities graduate researcher and as a Climate Corps Fellow for Environmental Defense Fund. At EDF, she worked on environmental justice and disaster resilience in underserved Houston communities. She is excited to continue implementing local climate action through her work with ANCA, where she will be assisting with writing a climate adaptation and resilience plan.
Caroline’s additional interests include state and international environmental policy. She has attended two United Nations COP Climate Negotiations internationally, where she researched and advocated for funding for loss and damages. She previously worked in state-level advocacy with the Adirondack Council, where she is currently the Vice Chair of the Next Generation Council. Caroline is also a professional Nordic ski and biathlon coach. She currently coaches biathlon at Craftsbury Outdoor Center and has held Nordic coaching positions with Bates College, Paul Smith’s College, Clarkson University, and Keene Central School. She was also the Nordic Events Coordinator for the Olympic Regional Development Authority. In her free time, Caroline enjoys Nordic and alpine skiing, canoeing, running, gravel riding, playing music, traveling, and spending time with her cat and soulmate, Phoebe.
