Alec Lehtman is a passionate advocate for sustainable development and economic resilience, dedicated to advancing inclusive, community-driven solutions. He is pursuing dual B.A. degrees in Economics and Environmental Studies at Colgate University, with academic interests in economic development, environmental justice, rural policy, and entrepreneurship.
Before joining the Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA) as a 2025 Summer Fellow, Alec conducted research on climate resilience and resource equity with the Colgate Office of Sustainability, served as an ESG Investment Analyst for the Colgate Investment Group, and founded and operated a video production business specializing in milestone life events.
Through the Colgate Upstate Institute Summer Field School, Alec is contributing to ANCA’s updated regional economic analysis and small business ecosystem strategy, an effort aimed at supporting and sustaining small businesses across Northern New York. His work includes conducting stakeholder interviews and analyzing regional data to better understand the challenges and opportunities surrounding rural business succession and ownership transitions.
Originally from Potomac, Maryland, Alec enjoys hiking, biking, reading, and traveling in his free time.
