BURKE— The village is taking a step toward curbing rising electricity costs
by converting its street lights to energy-efficient LED fixtures.

Village Mayor Craig Dumas noted Wednesday that the village has approved a
plan to retrofit its 28 street lamps with LED fixtures, which would reduce
the village’s budget line for electricity by roughly $450 annually. The
village spends roughly $5,000 per year on electricity for street lighting,
according to its 2018-2019 budget.
