Attention: The Community Policing Initiative Forum has been postponed due to winter weather and potentially unsafe travel conditions. A new date will be announced soon on this page and through ANCA and ADI’s social media channels.
“Building bridges between law enforcement and the communities they serve begins with understanding. Understanding the trauma community members carry, and the trauma officers carry as well. Our work isn’t about telling officers what to think, but empowering them to think critically about their interactions and the lived experiences behind them. When we recognize the deeply subjective nature of trauma on all sides, we create space for more compassionate, effective, and accountable policing.” ~ Dr. Lorenzo Boyd Founder & President of RENZ Consulting, LLC
Join the Adirondack Diversity Initiative for our first Community Policing Initiative Forum, taking place at the Hotel Saranac. This gathering is an opportunity to learn more about ADI’s Community Policing Initiative, which is now in its fourth year, and to connect with others who care about building safer, more trusting communities. We hope you’ll be able to join us.
During the event, you’ll hear directly from our trainers at RENZ Consulting and from members of local law enforcement who have participated in the program. We will discuss the program’s history and share key findings from our evaluation, followed by ample time for questions, discussion, and community conversation.
