Rooted & Rising is more than a symposium; it’s an invitation. An invitation to learn the history we stand on, understand the systems we’re navigating, while we equip ourselves and our communities with real tools, and imagine together what comes next.
We are living through a moment of rapid change, in our laws, our communities, and the systems meant to protect us. The Adirondack Diversity Initiative invites you to come together for learning, connection, and collective strength. Rooted & Rising is a gathering for everyone who believes the Adirondacks, and the world beyond it, can be more welcoming and just.
The Symposium will move through four interconnected conversations over the two days: where we stand today, the roots that ground us, the tools we need to protect one another, and the vision that carries us forward. Along the way we make space for the joy, art, and creative resistance that have always carried movements forward. Because resilience isn’t just about what we survive; it’s also about what we build, create, and celebrate along the way. Participants can join for one or both days.
