ANCA Attends National Craft Conference

by Nadia Korths
ANCA’s Craft Programs Coordinator attended the Craft Organization Directors Association’s (CODA) annual conference in Portland, Oregon in June, 2006. Nadia Korths’ three minute Powerpoint presentation to the full room of 90+ conference attendees summarized the highlights of the Best Practices Marketing Toolkit Report and associated workshops and of the Handmade in the Northern Forest Guidebook, funded in New York State by the USDA Rural Development. The attendees were impressed by the collaboration from across the four states of New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine among ten organizations and many funding sources to create the guidebook. The Marketing Toolkit Workshop continues to be presented upon request. On February 20, 2007 Linda Vincent, owner of Little Falls Antique Center in southern Herkimer County, will be hosting the workshop for her many regional craft and antique vendors, and on May 10, 2007 the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Adirondack Community College will be partnering with ANCA to present the workshop at the Greenwich Public Library in Greenwich, Washington County.
