Strategic Action Agenda

Saranac Lake, NY - The Adirondack North Country Association Board of Directors developed a Strategic Action Agenda that was distributed to the gubernatorial candidates, Eliot Spitzer and John Faso, and copied to Democratic and Republican county chairs and members of the Adirondack North Country Legislative Delegation. Through the action agenda ANCA’s Board has worked to alter misleading perceptions that "Downstate New York" equals "economy" and "Upstate New York" equals "environment."

The Board recognized the majority of residents in the Adirondack North Country are committed to its rural quality that offers opportunities for strong economies and healthy environments. The Adirondack North Country, which includes the entire Adirondack Park and Tug Hill Plateau, presents unique challenges in the areas of economic development and environmental preservation. Most importantly, the Board emphasized there are avenues we can undertake to improve the quality of life and achieve an important, long lasting balance between our rural economy and our unique rural environment. The Strategic Action Agenda builds from ANCA’s Strategic Plan 2006 -2010 that was adopted in March of 2006.
