20th Annual Rustic Nature Buyer Days Celebrates with Cash Prices and Free Seminar

March 22, 2006 - Rustic Nature Buyer Days, sponsored by the Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA), marks its 20th year on April 6-7, 2006 in Saratoga Springs, New York. This regional show is a professional venue for new and well-established artisans who produce handmade crafts, specialty foods, art, books, and music. ANCA will celebrate its long-time relationships with Adirondack North Country exhibitors and retailers by awarding cash prices for first, second and third place in the categories of Best Retailer and Best Exhibitor. In addition, a seminar that will feature ANCA’s publication Best Practices Marketing Toolkit for Gift Shop and Studio Owners in Rural Areas will be presented at the show on Friday, April 7, from 12 noon to 1 pm for free.

The main selling feature of the show is the quantity and quality of products produced in the Adirondack North Country, representative of the best of New York State. With an average booth fee of $140 and order writing of $2250 during the show, craft businesses choose to attend Buyer Days each year rather than attend other trade shows. Many of the participating shopowners also come repeatedly. New shops order a substantial amount of their inventory from the show’s exhibitors.

Shopowners can view the product lines registered for the show at ANCA’s regional craft portal website www.adknccrafts.com and preregister by April 1st to receive show badges and the final list of vendors by mail. Walk-in buyers with state sales tax numbers are welcome. There is no admission fee. The trade show dates and hours are Thursday, April 6, 12 noon - 6pm and on Friday, April 7, 9am - 4pm at the City Center in Saratoga Springs.

Buyers who have attended the show in the past have commented that the show is getting better and better every year. Buyers are consistently impressed with the quality, variety of merchandise, and affordable prices. Nadia Korths, Crafts Program Coordinator, stated, “We look forward to attracting more buyers each year to this exciting venue for regional products.” Terry Martino, ANCA Executive Director stated,” This is an important milestone for our work in business development. The longevity and success of the show is testimony of the need for businesses to have access to wholesale markets.” For more information about ANCA's craft marketing programs, contact Nadia Korths, Crafts Program Coordinator, at 518.891.1632 or email or visit www.adknccrafts.com.
