Michele Ledoux, Western Region VP
Michele Ledoux has been within the Cornell Cooperative Extension system for the last 26 years, first with Oswego County as a 4-H and Human Ecology Program Leader and for the last 11 years in Lewis County as the Executive Director doing both administration for the organization and subject matter work in ag economic development and agriculture. Involvement within Lewis County has been on committees to work on Lewis County Comprehensive Plan Implementation, Lewis County Agriculture Enhancement Plan, Lewis County Emergency Planning and the Lewis County Comprehensive Economic Development Committees.
Ledoux is active on several community boards including the North Country Children’s Clinic Board of Directors, Adirondack North Country Board of Directors, Lewis County Agricultural Farmland and Protection Board, and the Lewis County Youth Bureau Board of Directors. She is also a member of the NYS Beef Producers Association and has completed her Master of Beef Advocacy and Beef Quality Assurance Certification which supports not only her work with livestock producers but her family’s farming operation. With her husband, Steve, she runs the Adirondack Beef Company where they grow all natural, antibiotic free beef, lamb, and pork. Their children, Jake and Camille also have their own egg laying operation and meat bird business. The family markets all their agricultural products directly to consumers and restaurants.
