Adirondack Trail Scenic Byway Marketing Project

1-02-2007

The Adirondack North Country Association invites you to an Adirondack Trail Scenic Byway branding meeting scheduled for January 24, 2007 in Tupper Lake. Plan to join other community leaders, business owners, and tourism stakeholders along the Adirondack Trail Scenic Byway (Routes 30 and 30/A) as we move forward with the multi-phased marketing grant project to promote the people, places, and products found along the Byway.

Meeting Two Announcement: Branding the Byway

To attract visitors to the Adirondack Trial Scenic Byway, help them enjoy the special offerings we have, and encourage continuing and return visits, we need to differentiate ourselves from the many tourism options they have. The first step in that process is to create the Adirondack Trail Scenic Byway Brand. Our brand will be the expression of the compelling experiences that our Byway offers as defined in the vision and theme in the Corridor Management Plan: Water, Woods, Wilderness: The Adirondack Experience.

Our brand will provide the foundation for successful messages, marketing materials, and ways communities can interpret the brand to stimulate interest in their area of the byway and to encourage new and repeat visitors across the four counties.

Date: Wednesday January 24, 2007

NOTE: Inclement Weather Alternate Date January 25 (Listen for school closings announcements. If school is closed in Tupper Lake, the meeting will be cancelled.) Listen to North Country Public Radio for announcement.

Place: Goff-Nelson Memorial Library in downtown Tupper Lake 41 Lake Street

Time: 9:30am to 2:30pm

Light lunch provided

Questions: Call ANCA at 518-891-6200

During this session we will work with Susan Fuller of Fuller Communications to:
  • Define the sum of what we want visitors and prospects to expect and think when they hear the name Adirondack Trail Scenic Byway.
  • Identify the values we provide our visitors.
  • Determine the face and personality we will use to convey the Byway’s themes.
To make the most effective use of participants’ time we will send background materials and work sheets out before the meeting. Please pre-register with Sharon O’Brien at ANCA no later than Friday, January 19, 2007.
