2003 Annual Report
A Message From ANCA's Board President
|
The year 2003 was characterized by change and new beginnings for ANCA. Through our staffing and program initiatives we were able to adjust to the reduction in New York State funding and still deliver more that $1.4 M to the Adirondack North Country in direct programming with funding from private and public sources. The strength of our working partnerships with a wide range of organizations was again demonstrated in unique projects that touched upon recreational planning, agriculture and land conservation strategies, tourism marketing, community planning, and wood products development through a number of projects that are featured in this year's Annual Report.
It was a year when we began to better utilize electronic communications by announcing meetings and distributing ANCA materials via the Internet. These changes resulted in our presenting our 2003 Annual Report through our website, www.adirondack.org. |
The solid record that we achieved during the year was directly linked to your participation for which I am grateful. In particular, I appreciate my involvement with you as ANCA President as I look back on the years since March of 2000 when I became President following the tragic loss of Terry Harden. It was during our Annual Meeting in November that I had the opportunity to thank our Board of Directors for their commitment to ANCA and our staff for their ongoing success in the implementation of our programs. When Ron Ofner from Essex County prepared to lead the ANCA Board of Directors as President, I knew we were in excellent hands and I look forward to working with him in the future. I value the work ANCA has done in our region and hope you will support him and ANCA in our efforts to improve our communities and regional economy.
Your support means a lot to both Ron and me and is vital to the future of our organization.
